Have you been tested for Celiacs disease? It's a disease where you're intolerant to wheat and gluten, if you haven't been tested for that then you should be so you know for sure...have you had allergy tests done to see what all foods and things you may be allergic to?

I'm so sorry, I don't know for sure but maybe give it the full 3 months (or even longer) with cutting the gluten out of your diet, when your doc said 3 months that's really just an estimated time, I'm sure it varies from person to person before (or if) they see results. Did your doc do a gluten test to see if in fact you have an allergy to it?

You said they did a colonoscopy, but did they do any upper GI tests like a small bowel follow through or a barium x-ray of your upper GI tract?

I'm not exactly sure how far down and through the small intestines that an endoscopy can go and with there being many turns in the small intestine I would wonder if with the endoscope how far through they actually get...maybe find another GI and request a barium x-ray, or ask your current GI for one. whenthey did the colonoscopy do you know if they took biopsies? Biopsies would be necessary to find microscopic colitis since that cannot be seen via the colonoscopy alone. So also ask if biospies were taken to rule out microscopic colitis (collagenous colitis).

Why don't I see the responces that you are responding to. This often happens with PB4 response. If you are going to discuss something then it would be nice to see what one is responding to.

??????????canyonbabe I don't get what you're saying, who are you asking "why you don't see the responces that you are responding to"? Are you asking spencerman this question? Are you not seeing my responses when you're logged in Canyonbabe? Your post is confusing me LOL!

I'm a little confused as well but perhaps canyonbabe is suggesting when responding to specific posts or replies, we should copy and paste that post and then add our comments? But I don't think she means to offend you or anything, we're a kind, very helpful and supportive group here at HW.

Up until Canyonbabe and you Marsky started replying, only spencerman and myself were exchanging replies so when she posted I was confused about what her point was but I think for some reason she's only seeing what spencerman's been posting and not able to veiw my replies to him...on other forums here at HW the mods tell us NOT to "quote" when we respond to eachother all the time as it takes ups "space".

I know Canyonbabe was not trying to offend and I wasn't trying to put that across in my reply to her, just simply wondering if she could not veiw my responses and was only seeing spencermans replies. No doubt this is a very supportive and friendly group here at HW.

Until today, none of PB4 posts ever showed up on this thread so I thought there might be something you were doing to hide posts though I have no reason why anyone would do that.  I have had this happen before with PB4 posts. I see where you were the last poster but when I get there there is no post to read. All I could get on my screen until today were Spencerman's answers to you but nothing else.  I don't know why it is just PB's but it is. Even when I look up PB4 name and see the posts if I click on one it doesn't come up. I don't understand it.

That is odd and very strange canyonbabe! Well, let's just chalk it up some random computer glitch.....the main thing is lend help and support to one another. Because let's face it - people without IBS issues just do not understand. Even those without that try to understand, cannot possibly understand what we all go thru (from C to D, to all degrees in between).

I can't imagine what I would have done years ago if not for the internet. If I hadn't found a colon cancer message board 9 years ago, I wouldn't have read that a low residue diet often helps with IBS/D symptoms. And from there I began reading even more articles, links, websites to gather more info. I've checked just a few books out from our library but they haven't been very helpful. What I find the most helpful is communicating with patients with IBS, whether their symptoms are exactly like mine or not. Just knowing others struggle too, even though I wish they didn't have to, just helps me feel less alone.

Canyonbabe I have the very same issue with a poster at the crohn's forum, when I'm not logged in and just lurking I can read all of her postings but as soon as I log on I cannot read them...I think I might have accidentally hit the "ignore" icon in the top right hand corner on one of her posts when I meant to quote one of her posts during a reply. I don't think there's anyway to reverse that either so whenever I want to read what Ivy has posted I have to log off then log back on to reply.

Well, when I pulled up this site right it shows that PB4 was the last poster on this thread and yet no message from PG4. I only see Mary's response. It is all very strange. It is odd that it is only PB4 posts.

Thanks.
I finally went in and logged off and now I can read your posts. I understand that it takes up space but I also think that what you post could help other people and there is nothing like hearing just one side of a conversation.  It sounds goofy to me.I think most people try to stay logged in. I am really surpised other people didn't question it also since there were obvious posts missing. Oh, well, just nosy me, I guess. I don't like unsolved things.  It seems to me that if you post it at all it is going to take up the same amount of space as if you post it privately but it is just blocked to those that are logged in and why the heck would anyone want to log out, read your post and then have to log in to answer someones post or maybe add to yours.

FYI, an endoscope can only get as far as the duodenum and see that and can go no further.
