about 12 years ago I had IBS (D) that was so severe that it kept me housebound
for a couple of years. (Misery) It went away after I was diagnosed with Attention
Deficit Disorder and treated with the medication that helps ADD. It was a very
strange off-label sort of thing.

Now, I have chronic pain due to back problems. I get constiptated but control it
by taking 4 or 5 Senokot-S a night.

My question: When reading the direction to take, almost every Laxative warns
"Do not take this if you have Scoliosis"

Does anybody know why?? I asked my doctor and he had never heard of it.

I believe Scoliosis only hits 2% of the population so I'm not exactly holding my
breath waiting for an answer.

Just an idea not based of anything medical but maybe the curve of the spine causes the guts to curve too? Then taking a laxative might not be a good idea if you are prone to obstructions or kinks I guess we could call them. I had a friend with scoliosis and I know she had some gut problems that her doc said was caused by it.

Lady Frog,
Rivet! You said it.
That is exactly what I was thinking.
It's a kinda scary thought so
I thought
I must be wrong!
That can't be it.
I am soooo careful.
(I'd better keep it up)
Thanks for responding.
