Questran helped with having more formed BMs, but I still suffered from frequency and urgency issues just like what you described.

I was prescribed Elavil (amitryptaline).  At a very, very low dose (about 12.5 mg), it controls the urgency and frequency 90% of the time.

It's  too low a dose for clinical depression, it works on the receptors in your gut quite well.  You may want to discuss this with your MD or GI specialist.

I find an antispasmodic (buscupan or colofac ibs) slow things down and help with urgency issues. If i know i have to go somewhere i take these and so far it has helped. I can't take them on a daily basis though as i found they can slow things down a bit too much when taken all the time.

I'll check into those meds with my GI doctor I researched them online and they have a lot of side effects I'm going to be careful before I decide to take anyone of them.I'll have to talk it over with my GI doctor though thanks for the info very informative I know something that I did not know now. :-)
