I have read on here that some of you drink peppermint tea when you feel bloated/gassy to relieve this. Can I just get any brand at the store or are some better than others? Also I have read some say they will put fresh ginger root in their tea - can you buy that at the grocery store and how much do you add to your tea?

Yes, any peppermint tea should work. It all really depends on your taste. I went through about 4 tea brands before I found something I liked. Even then, I prefer to make it fresh (boil some from the garden).
Yes, ginger root can usually be found at the grocery store. I found the Asian markets usually have it. It would be best to make a tea out of it - boil a chunk in a pan with water. Again, it's about taste, trial and error. Play around with the size of root and how long you boil it with how much flavor you like.

It doesn't agree with me, it gives me heartburn...eating fresh ginger may be very helpful with your issues, it's certainly known to calm an upset tummy. It should be at your grocery store that's where I've seen it and bought it from.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

Yeah, I agree--if you've GERD, mint/ginger (& tumeric, I've found) are big no-nos for relaxing that valve and giving us heartburn.
But for herb tea, I love Stash brand, FYI.  :-)

I have severe acid reflux but sometimes I just have to use the peppermint, ginger, fennel capsules I get from Heather's. They definetly help with bloating and indigestion. The peppermint is supposed to not be released till it goes into the intestine but I wouldn't guarantee that. They don't seem to make my acid reflux worse. Actually when I am bloated I want my valve a little floppy so I can burp up some gas. Otherwise it is just stuck in the stomach.
