For my colonoscopy prep, I've been directed to do the following, 24 hours before:

1) 4 Dulcolax tablets, taken with 8oz of any clear liquid
2) One 238 gram bottle of Miralax, mixed into 64 oz of clear liquid

However, Dulcolax and Miralax are a little harsh for me, so I would like to use half of those amounts, and have a colon hydrotherapy treatment on the morning of the colonoscopy (which is scheduled for 2 PM.)
Has anyone tried anything like this? Did it work ok for you? Does anyone have any other thoughts or ideas, to reduce the amount of laxatives used?
Also, what sort of clear liquid did you use for mixing your Miralax?
Thanks!

Hi SnowQueen,

That's the exact prep that my surgeon had me use for my colectomy-removal of my colon in July.  It was the absolute best prep.  I was told to mix the miralax with gatorade.  There's no awful taste or vomiting from the prep.  It works pretty well if you don't have severe constipation issues. I had recommended this prep to several people since my surgery.  I wish you the best :)

SnowQueen,

I just realized you said you are sensitive to the Dulcolax & Miralax...I would still take the Dulcolax as directed, mix the Miralax then drink until everything comes out clear...I hope this helps you:)

Hi

Having a Colonoscopy in 2 weeks so I am also searching for the best prep.  I am considering doing the same cleanse, but yesterday I was reading up on Dulcolax and most comments about it were negative.  People said that they suffered terribly from taking a couple of pills.  Horrible cramping, vomiting, sweating,  dizzy and violent diahrria.  That wasn't even for the prep cleanse.  This was just for normal constipation relief. I am thinking that I may just do the Miralax without the Dulcolax.  I think I will do a juice fast a couple days before the proceedure so that I will more prepared for the "Big Evacuation". lol
