Hi
My mom was just diagnossed with irritable bowel syndrome after a colonsocopy and much suffering. She asked me if I knew anything about PEG which the doctor prescribed since I have had  Crohn's for  the last  20 years. I told her No, but I know where to look because I have used this website for my Crohn's questions and it is the bst!

So have any of  you heard of PEG or is it an abbreviation for something else?

Sincerely,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to the IBS board!
PEG stands for polyethylene glycol, which is an osmodic laxative. It is used in patients with constipation. Your mom, I assume, has IBS-C?
