Hi there. I belong to the Lupus board and am not new to Healingwell but am new to IBS. I have RSD, Lupus, Acid Reflux, Thyroid Disease and now IBS.
I have been having a rough week. Last Tuesday I spent 40 minutes on the toilet, pain and cramps, diarehha and normal bm's all thrown in together. I was like that off and on all day. Since then I went 6 days without a bm so last night I took a Dulcolox (not sure of spelling) and have spent most of the day on teh toilet, same as last week. Pain, diarehha, half normal stool and just not feeling well. I really need help trying to figure out what sets off these spells. I am on alot of medication for the Lupus and pain pills for the Lupus and the RSD. I finally had to give in and take sme Pepto Bismal today but it isn't helping. I really need help.

Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do to help with these symptoms? Please?

Thanks so much,
Connie

That sucks. I'm sorry. I have days like that too. I have no advice. They tell me that it won't be like this forever.

What kind of diet are you on? Your body seems to be going in complete opposite directions...first you can't stop, then you can't go...people with IBS usually are on or the other, were you diagnosed by your doctor? I asked about your diet because usually its diet that causes swings like this
It seemed like a good idea at the time

I am not sure of what kind of diet I should be on, that is part of the problem. I have no idea where to start or what I should or shouldn't be eating. I started reading some of the articles on this site which I think will help but if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should be eating on a daily basis I would really appreciate it.

I was diagnosed by my family doctor.

Thanks,

Connie
