Just wondering... my left side, which is the sick side, around the descending and sigmoid colon also feels swollen. Definately bigger than the right side.

Can IBS cause this? I'm worried its something inside me like a polyp or tumor x.x

3 days to my colonscopy..but i'd still like to hear from you guys. :)

I don't know, maybe it's bloating from trapped wind? That can cause pain and a feeling of swelling and fullness. ( I should know. Ouch :( ) But get it checked if it's extreme, better safe than sorry. Good luck with the colonoscopy.

I had a horrible episode one month ago with excruciating pain all over my stomach and especially on my left side... ended up going to the hospital.  I had a catscan (sp??) and was diagnosed with colitis... Had to take Cipro for 10 days.  Feeling better, but still have discomfort throught stomach and especially in the middle... All test always come back negative... go figure!  Hope this helps.
