Do also others get abdominal tenderness? Sore pain around the belly?
This really drives me crazy. The tummy is hypersensitive, ayone also have this kind of pain?
I didn`t find anything to cope with this problem. Antidspasmodics don work.

Hi there,

Yes, I have abdominal tenderness as we speak.  In fact it's gone beyond tender, to painful.  I'm seeing my doctor this afternoon.  My IBS comes and goes with my Fibromyalgia flare ups.  Glorious combination - NOT!!!

I hope to get some treatment for this pain.  I'll let you know what I learn!

Yes, the pain comes along with the swelling.  I had a section of my bowel removed in 2003 so in the area that they reconnected I always have constant pain and my intestines feel like they are so swollen that they are going to burst.  All the pain swelling cramping and C  and nausia this is no fun.  Mine really got worse in April and I was on vacation in Calif and ended up in the hospital for 4 days...still have not gotten much better.  So went to the GI doc the other day and he has scheduled and upper and lower GI and a Ultra sound of the mesentary vascular system to make sure the blood is flowing to my intestines.

I am so tired of not having a life and feeling so sick all the time.  I am so ready to get back to my life and it's just not happening yet.  So I hope that you have better luck than I... nono

You can develop tenderness after a bad bout of cramping, but please make SURE you are checked for the following problems, which are VERY likely to cause tenderness:

1. Bad appendix. This tends to cause lower right-side pain and tenderness, although it can radiate across the lower abdomen or up the right side. A ruptured appendix is a very serious problem, so hound your doctor(s) into checking to make sure it's not that.

2. Bad gall bladder. This tends to cause upper right-side pain and tenderness, although I'm living proof that it can radiate across the entire upper abdomen; some people also have pain down the right side.

3. (Only applicable to women). Ovarian cysts, fybroid tumors, and/or endometreosis. This pain and tenderness tends to stay in the lower abdomen, although ovarian cysts in particular can cause either left or right lower abdomen pain.

Surgery can remove the bad gall bladder or appendix, while birth control can usually control the female problems. Anti-spasmodics, however, won't work on any of that because spasms are not what's causing the pain.

Your doctor should also do an abnominal exam (where he presses on your belly) to try and check for hernias, which can cause pain, tenderness and oftentimes constipation. Upper GI pain, especially accompanied by heartburn, can indicate stomach ulcers.

Thanks so much but that has been all checked out...Had my gallbladder removed in93, just had my gyno appt 2 weeks ago, so it is none of those things....  Today had to do an enema again and now my bowels and intestines are so swollen that my pants dont fit.  Having the messintery vascular scan in the morning to see if the blood is flowing properly in my intestines and blood work again even though they did blood work 2 weeks ago.
I quit smoking 3 months ago and ended up buying a pack last night because I was so irritated, so took a couple of puffs, and ofcourse it tasted horrible so dont want to do that.  I would just hate myself if I started smoking again, it took me too long to quit.  But I get so anxioited that I have to do something.  Well time to eat some soup,  have a good day....Leslie
