Hello there alias 46..welcome to the club. A lot of us here have that same problem. Some of have to be very careful and plan their activities around bathroom availability. If you are really worried, carry some extra clothing, "just in case". If something does happen, explain it honestly and move on. Once you get better control understanding of your IBS, the how and when, what effects me, you can plan better and do what you have, and what to do
It seemed like a good idea at the time

You're not alone! I have had IBS for 27 years and believe me, I know where all the bathrooms are.  I have had 'issues' so much that the end of my colon is 'slick.'  Over the years, I have gotten so bad, that I have no control. If I feel a rumble or bloating, I know I better be sitting down (on the pot). I don't have to eat, either; for this to happen. As the person before said, take an extra change of clothes and don't leave home without Imodium pills.  Take care.

They 'STOP' you up. But, when I decide to take them (usually two); I will stop having D for a day (maybe) and then start again. They say to eat small portions of food, 5 or 6 times a day. I just ate lunch and now I'm trotting. Believe me, it'll control your life! I wish you good health.
