Okay...I've been having this problem too. I wasn't having it until I started going to a chiropractor who put me on an extremely large amount of a probiotic. (Acidophilus and bifido bacterium, I think.) I decided to stop going to her for my constipation and gas problems as things started getting worse instead of better. I'm going to try a different one who deals with enzymes. If he even attempts to put me on the same things, I'm going to be out of there so fast that his head will spin. I went on Align and it made me worse at times than better. The only way I could get going was to eat extremely fatty foods and then I would sort of dump everything at once. (Sorry, that's gross, I know.) So I personally don't think probiotics are my answer. Anyways, I would tend to think malabsorbtion is problem the biggest reason for the floating stools. I looked it up too, and apparently some vegetarians want floating stools as it means they are eating only fruits and veggies, but I think that is wacky.
