This may help. My surgeon said I can safely take up to 12 immodium pills a day.

Thanks Marsky . I have some here I will take one and see if it helps . I also have some bentyl here from before surgery my pcp prescribed . If it gets too bad. When I saw him a couple weeks ago if I found myself having the problem with the Big D after my surgery. I could take a bentyl to slow it down . Again thanks for the advice.

While I never have experienced the yellow bile D, from what I can gather if a person has this specific type of D, then chewable Caltrate with Vitamin D pills do wonders to bind the stool. And limit the trips to the bathroom. Look up previous posts from this member - Inape - and she'll help you in beginning this calcium regimen. I think you cut the pills in half, taking 1/2 with 1 meal, making that three half pills in a 24 hour period. Eventually working up to 3 full pills in a 24 hour period. I believe if Caltrate helps you, you need to take it for life (since you're functioning without a gall bladder).

I did try it several times but it didn't help me as much as it does those with yellow bile D.

Look up bile salts diarrhea that is most likely what you have. Taking calcium carbonate with viamin D you can control this. Let me know if yo need help.
