Thanks for the reply, MayOK. I'm a male, so I think I can safely rule out pregnancy as part of my problem . But some of your symptoms do sound familiar. I'm still waiting for the GI office to call and set up the new test he wants.
Thanks again for the input.

Hi Sodone, The Sitz Mark test is a simple test. You swallow a capsule filled with tiny rings that show up on X-rays. I took my capsule on a saturday and went for my first x-ray on monday, followed by another x-ray on wednesday and friday. The x-rays will show how fast these little markers are moving through your bowel, giving the doctor a good idea of how active or inactive the bowel is.
Hi Shawn12. That list is eerily similar to many of the problems I have. There definitely is much more to this IBS thing than just the bowels. Thanks for posting the link, very much appreciated .
Hi idkwia, I had a colonoscopy last october and they said it looked ok. I'm going to be scheduled to have those rectal studies you've mentioned, and I'm not looking forward to it at all .
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it .
