Hi Shawn12 :-) . I hope this won't be a problem for me. I will be getting a colectomy for a dead large bowel (as determined by a Sitz Mark test) and will undoubtedly receive narcaotic pain relievers. I don't know for how long, but I hope it's for a short a time as possible. Or maybe since my large bowel will be gone, I won't have to worry? I've never heard about this problem until you mentioned it. After reading that it could possibly develope with the use of large amounts of narcotic pain relievers after surgery, it really got my attention.

It's always something shakehead .

Thanks for the info.

God bless.
