Well the movi -prep did taste like lemon pledge. I have this trick and anyone is welcome to it if it makes it easier getting down. I poured the movi-prep

and any kind of apple juice at the same time in a glass. It still tastes the same, but it makes it a lot easier going down to get the job done. My

colonoscopy was set for 1:50pm, but I was very anxious about the time that passed after finishing the prep the next morning. So I asked if the GI

lab had any earlier openings. So I decided upon myself to take a cab to the hospital and I made it in time to get preped. Everything turned out fine,

except the sedative didn't help a lot because I was maybe in twilight for awhile and I could feel the doctor put the tubing in my butt. I don't remember

if I felt pressure or the pain of the tubing going in. Thank goodness the doctor found only one small benign polpy in my colon and they sent it to pathology

The uncomfortable part about afterwards is that I still had  movi-prep and had a loose stomach for the rest of the day and into the next day.

The sedative still made me very sleepy yesterday and today. I think I slept a good five hours today. I'm just glad it's behind me but I have to go

back for another colonoscopy in three to five years.

Glad your test is now over with, what a relief that must feel like and as you said, you don't have to think about it again for 3 to 5 years. That's too bad the sedative didn't work as thoroughly on you. I've never felt anything or remember details after they begin to put the shot into my IV. I always tell them to wait until it takes hold to start but honestly I don't recall even feeling the scope going in. Sorry that happened to you!

Hoping for a good outcome with the path report, but since your doctor said the polyp was benign (I'm guessing that was his early assessment?), that's good news to hold onto.

Yes it was benign and it was his assessment, but it was very small. I'm not sure why they sent it to pathlogy, but better safe than sorry I guess.

I'm so relived that it was benign and I don't  to go back in three to five years. Thanks so much for your reply back Marksky! Now the real hard

part begins for me. In two weeks, I'll be moving out on my own in the windy city from the suburbs.

Glad it turned out okay for you and you got it done.

Yes, they send them all to  pathlogy to be on the safe side.

Good luck with the move. Moving is usally somewhat stressful so try to keep that as low as possible. You have friends helping you move?

not exactly shawn12.......it's a hell lot worse then friends

helping me move....My parents are helping me move, but I don't

think my mother will be able to help because she has to work

in the morning. It doesn't help for my father to help because

he's 77 years old and it's too hard for him. He can't carry heavy

things. He even can't put more then two plates away in his

cupboard in the kitchen. I think I need to maybe call my friends

and ask for their help. If they can, but I don't know because

one of them works for his father and the other has a girlfriend

and a baby girl to take care of.  So I'm stuck with my father

helping me. I wish my mom would take the day off to help

me. This move is going to be a disaster. (sighs) cry

Hopefully you can get some friends to possibly help you give it a try. Yes moving is stressful and I understand with your dad, its nice they are helping but I understand with his age. Hopefully it will go easier for you and you can get some other help. Let us know how it goes.

Try to stay somewhat positive also as that can help.
