I find that walking up and down steps helps release pent up gas. Also massaging the tract your large intestine follows, on abdomen - start on the lower right side of your stomach, press down gently but firmly and work your way up to your navel, go over horizontally and then back down to exit. A nurse helped me with this trick in the hospital. Also sipping hot beverages get things moving and seems to help me getting rid of gas.
