Hey guys,

I have had this problem for many years now. I have to rush to the toilet within 20-30 mins of eating anything. I rush to the toilet immediately after waking up. Most of the times, my stool is watery. I suffer from regular gas problems also. I'm also at a risk of HIV (coz of some utterly stupid things I have done in my past) and I have read that diarrhea is a symptom of HIV. Do I have IBS or can this be HIV? I'm really scared of getting HIV tested and because of this, I haven't been to a doctor in years coz I'm scared that they'll ask me to get a blood test done and find out that I am HIV+.

Can someone please help?

Thanks so much!

It sounds like you are making a lot of bile. Check with your doctor. Look at the bile salt dio section and loose stools and dont worry too much, It could be IBS but needs investigation. Gaviscone or similar helps with the reflux and stops the watery stools as well. Doctor! and if you are HIV you would want treatment to prolong your life wouldn't you? I'm an old gran so do as granny tells you, Doctors!:)

Thanks so much for the response, Portaloo. Much appreciated! I know this is off-topic but I need to know to put my mind to rest. Do you think my symptoms could be because of HIV? Does this sound like the diarrhea that HIV infected patients suffer from?

I tested for HIV yesterday and I'm negative. Relieved beyond words! Gotta go and get tested for IBS now. Thanks!

I have just discovered that indigestion mixture with calcium carbonate content (cheapy or gaviscone) has stopped watery stools.  However you should always consult your doctor to test for other things that could be causing the problem.  There is so much rubbish added to food nowdays, lactose (same as lactolose) added to bind most foods even sausages, that we are being false fed the very substances that cause D.  Sorbitol another bowel lubricant.  I think we should organise a mass protest and false feed the food manufacturers MD's syrup of figs and see how they like it. lol  Keep your chin up.  Glad you was negative, now be good and safe,
