Hi there,

I've just bought some aloe vera gel to try and sort out my IBS problem but am unsure how much to drink at a time. The product is gel (not juice which can cause D) and made by Forever Living. I know that you are supposed to take it about half an hour before you have breakfast first thing - but i don't know the correct quantity! Reccommendations vary between 2 - 6 fl oz at a time.

I would be grateful if anybody could offer me any advice on the correct amount based on personal experience.

Thanx!! :-)

I have heard that you are supposed to take 1oz at a time, anywhere from 1-3 times a day.
Let us know how it works... Good luck!

You're not supposed to ingest aloe vera GEL or it will CAUSE serious digestive issues. You ingest the JUICE not the GEL. The GEL is for topical burns and cuts and stuff like that.

Hi Michelle / roadtrip,
They have both types of Gel. You just need to make sure you get the one for consumption. It just needs to be mixed with any liquid. Or, you can drink it as is but it is "snot like" (according to Sarita - LOL).

I am a ***** Aloe distributor and drinker, and the recommended doses depend on each individual, depending on there condition, for instance, we would suggest someone with Crohns, should start off slowly with a teaspoon a day and work the dose up slowly. IBS you can take around 20-30ml, and again work this amount up slowly over a period of weeks... You cannot overdose from Aloe drinking gel.
I suffer with Bechets syndrome, I have rheumatoid arthritis and CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) stage 3, plus i had bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms (Blood clots)last year, and *****Aloe gel has improved my health and energy levels, as well as reduced my pain levels dramatically.

Hi

I am a holistic healthcare counselor from Switzerland. I do drink Aloe Vera myself. Trying to combat IBS can only be successful if you also adjust your diet a bit. Reduce white flour and sugar, sodapop, nicotine and alcohol. Drink aloe vera juice daily. Also drink plenty of water. Take a wholefood supplement such as barleygrass or wheatgrass. They are loaded with nutrition but especially phytonutrients, chlorophyl, all necessary to get rid of unwanted toxins trapped within the tissues of our body. Start out with little aloe vera and up your dosage to about 100 ml three times daily. Once your ibs is under control you can reduce the aloe vera to 50 ml three times daily.
