hey everyone! hope yall are all havin a good day.

anyway, I had a question. Ive been in "remission" from IBS for about a month (its been pure bliss, i'll tell you what!!) The only IBS symptom ive had at all is bad gas. Today, was horrible. All of a sudden, I blew up like a balloon. I seriously looked pregnant. Then, my whole stomach/intestinal region hurt soo bad. It was a sharp stabbing pain all over, and if i pressed on my stomach at all, it hurt even more! I felt like a balloon that needed to deflate. Eventually, after passing some gas, it went away. Was that just like a massive gas bubble or what?

Hi blondie,

Sorry you had such a bad day. (((HUGS))) It sounds like all it was, was gas. Have you tried taking anything for it... Tea, Gas-X, etc.? I know you said you play volleyball - can you exercise when you feel this horrible? I think the movement would help a lot in preventing trapped gas.

Didn't someone on here say that they had a lot of success in passing their gas that didn't seem to want to come out when they did the "downward facing dog" yoga position? I'm sure if you looked it up online, you'd find a diagram of it. Maybe that will help in the future to dislodge whatever bubble(s) you have.

no, it is funny, yes it was me...
it is down dog, but more like a dog next to a fire hydrant....

sorry, i am laughing... i need a moment...

so your in down dog right, then you lift your leg square to your hips and turn your torso (kind of like you are looking through your armpit)--it strengthens the upper body and legs and most twists in yoga "wring" out the toxins of the intestines--and gas...
i find it hilarious, cause, hey farts are funny...
and any exercise that makes you laugh AND fart can't be bad!

i am sorry for laughing blondie, i am sorry about your pain and frustration, i hope you get some relief soon!!

what works for my dad is when he massages his stomach counter clockwise or counterclockwise. hope you feel better

You know i get depressed over the fact that so many people suffer and theres not even a known cure YET....thats just rediculous
