Ok heres an update on me....I started my new job 3 weeks ago..I have been taking 1 lomotil every morning at 5:15am,then metamucial at 6:00am and then calcium pill with my small breakfast around 6:15am or so. Now I also take metamucial again around 4:00pm and calcium with lunch and before bedtime. Everything has been working fine...mornings are a little rough,1st BM (as soon as I wake up) is uaually good..actually normal. Then I may go 2-3 more times untill everything kicks in..after that I have usually been good for the entire day,if not I will go once later in the day. But defintely I go about 3-4 times 1st thing in the morning. That is on Monday thru friday. Weekends I still take the metamucial and calcium but try to do without the lomotil. Does anyone see anything wrong with the combinations I am taking? Should I change anything? Alot of days I still feel like I need to go but when I get to a toilet im pretty blocked up which leads me to believe its all my anxiety "thinking" I need to go. Does anyone think if I ask my Doc for something for my nerves/anxiety that I will fell alot better seeing as though I always "fear" I need to go but I dont actually go as long as Im taking all my meds......Advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Also does anyone see any problem with taking 1 lomotil every morning Monday to Friday?

Hi gymrat,
If your doctor is okay with your routine and its working for you, I would say stick with it. I think that is one of the hardest things is finding a regimine that works for us. "What time do I take this, do I take it with food, what else should I take?" It gets all to exhausting and frustrating. If you feel that your "nerves" or you are having extra anxiety I would definitely suggest talking to your doctor. I have anxiety/panic disorder and I let it go for so long until I started getting a slight case of agoraphobia. It took a long time to get myself out of that but also think that if I started bringing this up with the doc sooner than I could avoided going through as much as I did, I am doing so much better now after therapy (although not complete reversal). Anxiety can start in any form. My deal was that I was just to ashamed to mention it to the doc and I slap myself on the hand everytime I think that way now.

Hope you find some answers and relief. Until then, take care!!

Im actually going to stop taking the metmucial and see how the lomotil and calcium work on their own. Ever since I started taking the metamucial I have had trouble eating,no appetite and just didnt feel right. I stopped taking it yesterday and I ate normal again and today I feel better also. Im not really sure if was helping me to much anyway..it actualy seemed like I was getting more bright yellow watery when I did go.Im going to see what happens without it for a little bit. I do have a question for anyone though...my wife came home today with fiber choice chewable tablets(orange).it says to take 2 per day..no water needed.Has 4g soluble fiber per 2 tablets and says it increases calcium absorption because its made from inulin. now I take calcium 3 x's per day so if this helps increase calcium absorption and calcium is supposed to help with bulk then maybe the 2 together will work for me?? You dont think because its a fiber supplement that it will make me go more do you?
