I got my first acceptance to medical school on Friday!  I've been working for this goal for so long that I'm a little bit in shock.  But ready for anything.  Thanks to all of you for your support!

Thanks Lil, meanies, and ryleigh.  I've learned a lot about illness from this website and what people endure, so it's definitely helped me as well.  I think the most important thing I've learned is that as someone's doctor, you really need to let them know that you're willing to do whatever you can to try to help them; to let them know that you don't have all the answers but will try your hardest to discover them.  Medicine can sometimes be a total crapshoot; patients and doctors alike need to understand that!

Hey girls!  Just an update...I'm on acceptance #4!  It's insane.  Anyone live in any of the following places: Las Vegas, San Francisco, Blacksburg VA, or Phoenix?

I went to school in Roanoke, VA, which is just on the other side of the mountain from Blacksburg (going to UV?). If you're not a city person, then that's the place for you. Blacksburg isn't a very large city (neither is Roanoke). Roanoke is 4 hours from D.C., so Blacksburg maybe be as much as 5 hours away from it. Blacksburg gets more snow and wintry weather than Roanoke, but, like everywhere in the South, it doesn't get a whole lot. Of course, being from Alaska, you may not mind a lot less wintery weather, but you may not like the heat and humidty down here either! Of course, Phoenix and Vegas both beat us on that; SF is the only other fairly temperate place.
