Hi caregirl,
I have not taken any antispasmodics... sorry, can't help you there. But, Acidophilus, Kyo-Dophilus and Culturelle are all Probiotics. Probiotics are "good" bacteria that your GI tract needs for proper digestion. You can also get these good bacteria from yogurt or yogurt shakes. Dannon Activia seems to be one of the top yogurts with the most probiotics in each serving. Aciphex is a Proton Pump Inhibitor, it is used to treat GERD or heartburn.

Hyoscamine made me sleepy too, but that's all it did. I might as well have drunk water to cure my gall bladder spasms. They seem to be very hit or miss, anti-spasmodics; it can take a lot of trial-and-error to find one that works right for you. Luckily there seems to be plenty of them out there to try.

I took hyoscamine and it did seem to work for me. I think it depends on how severe your symptoms are, I first started taking it like 5 yrs ago and my IBS-D was not too bad, and now it's way worse so I'm not sure it would work for me now. In fact, I did take it for a while 6 months ago, and it just wasn't cutting it. It wouldn't really make me sleepy, maybe a little drowsy but not too bad, I would take it before class and managed to stay awake. I would also have a meal with it, maybe that's why it didn't affect me so bad. I hope you find something that works for you.
