Hi Sarah,
Do you have H.Pylori? Bad bacteria has been known to linger and reoccur. Your best bet (along with the antibiotic) would be to try taking probiotics and/or eat yogurt on a daily basis. It will help evacuate the bad bacteria and balance your gut flora. Have you also tried taking anti-gas meds or drinking tea (fennel is good for gas)?
Hoep you get to feeling better soon....

I found taking a fibre supplement daily (something that is highly recommended for both IBDers and IBSers) stopped all my bloating and gas and fibre makes your stools formed and helps you whether you have D or C or alternating...of course it takes time for your system to adjust to fibre (took me 3 months of EXTRA gas and bloating) but it varies from person to person, the key is sticking with it to finally get the results and taking it GI suggested it to me and it was the best advice I've ever gotten. In fact, he suggested it because he suspects that I have IBS on top of having crohns disease and it's been a huge help in many ways, like you I had tons of horrible gas, and very bloated, like I said, I got some extra while adjusting but after 3 months no more bloat and just a little gas at night before bed.
