sorry everyone i know i keep posting. i just thuoght that i would ask on here. i have been useing surposties as it seems to be the only thing that helps with the irtation. oh i don't have piles but was given the cream by my doctor. i found that the cream did nothing but the surposties did help a bit. i am finding that i have to use them everyday. i was just wondering if this is ok to use all the time. i hate using them as they are uncomfortable at first but guess i will have to put up with that.

is it ok to use them on a long term bases?

Are they laxative suppositories or medicinal suppositories? Laxative ones are probably not good to use for too many weeks because the vast majority of chemical laxatives cause dependence when used too often and for too long--meaning you will have to take a laxative for the rest of your life just in order to have a bowel movement. Medicinal suppositories, used to treat a rash or irritation or hemmroids should be used according to the directions on the box or the prescription. Most OTC drugs say "If you're not better in x amount of time, see a doctor." That means you shouldn't use that product any longer than that, either because it's not safe to use it any more, or because you probably have something worse wrong with you and the OTC medicine is just masking the problem.

If you have constipation problems, there are a number of things you can try that don't cause dependency. If you are having problems with a rash or something of that nature, then, if the medicine doesn't do the trick in its alloted time, you can try switching toliet paper (get some with aloe vera or get aloe vera baby wipes) and you can also try calcium, which is good for intestinal irritations (but constipating; you can only take it if you have loose stools). If it's hemmroids, soft (but not frequent) stools and time are the best healers.

the surposties are are for piles but i use them as i am so sore up the backpassage and also to with the irrittation. i am using loads a day at mo there are no gulid lines as to how many to take. they are medicated. i don't have any problems with conistpation my problem is i can't stop going and i get dirrhoea. i was given laxtives by gi why i am not sure. i haven't taken them as i don't think that they will do me any good smurf

i have tried wipes and all that but it doesn't make a difference. the only thing that makes a difference is the surposties. i know i am probably being very impitant but i have been suffering from this for so long now that my piatents is being to wear thin.

Stopping the D will probably go a long way towards stopping the irritation. Do you take immodium or anything for it? Also, are your stools yellow or green in color? That usually indicates too much bile. Bile, being an acid, can really make you raw (ask me how I know this). That can inidcate a bad gall bladder, but some people with constant D have bile problems, not because their gall bladder is bad, but because their body is rushing their food through so fast, it doesn't have time to get absorbed properly. But there is medicine that can help absorb the bile and eliminate that problem. But if your stools are normal colored, it's not bile that's making you raw, but rather just too much pooping. Have you tried the Caltrate 600 w/vitamin D? I don't know if you can get that same brand in the UK, but just look through all the calcium supplements and pick out the one with the least amount of magnesium in it, and that should do you. You can take up to 1800mg a day. It's helped a lot of people; maybe not fix them up completely, but make life more bearable. When I started it, it got rid of my cramping as well as my unexplainable D.
