Yes, this is probably your IBS. I don't know much about
UC, but if it is anything like IBS, you have to try to avoid lots of things. Being very picky is crutial. Red meat is difficult to digest for any person - throw in IBS and/or UC and you might have a problem. Same goes for french fries, or anything deep fried or greasy. Most of us can't handle fried anything. Salad and raw veggies too. Spicy (i.e. Mexican, Indian, Thai, etc.) is also a no-no. For me, spices have to be consumed in moderation.
It's all about
trial and error. Keeping a food diary will help guide you in the right direction.
