today i went to see the mental health unit becuase that was the answer my gp had to my problems. it was the best thing i could have done. i had an assiment in which you disscuss your problems to see how they can help you. he said that he agrees that something is wrong and they can't just diagnose ibs on the tests i had done. he said i need to have alergie tests ans also may a conocopy or barium enerma. he is going to recomend to my gp about these tests.

he has also recomended a course for relaxsation and also he is going to reffer me to the ocupational thearpist. he said it is no wonder i am feeling like this and was so nice to me and seemed to understand what i was going though. so hopefully................ but i will have to wait until after xmas for some help.

Woo hoo!!!! :-)
What a relief, oneday. I think you should definately have a colonoscopy. Given the bleeding, I think the doc would skip the barium and go straight for the scope (push for that if you can).
Relaxation techniques will also help you. We hear Yoga is great.

So when will you know what comes next for you?

hi 7Lil
thanks for your surport. i have to wait for the mental health unit to write a report to my doctor about his recomendations then take it from there. so prabably after xmas now. i will probably have to wait again to see a gi which will be ages but at least they believe me. i am going to go and see doctor before then as i need something else for the pain. also i have had a thick bloody discharge and i am so sore still i need something else for that over xmas period as doctors are closed for about a week. also i was told there could be something wrong with my bladder as well and that they should have investiagated that further. so at least he took notice.

Do you have a digital camera? I have suggested before that people who have really odd stools should take a picture and then show it to their doctor. If you have or could borrow a digital camera, I think you should take some pictures of these bloody stools that you have (try not to obscure the stools with toliet paper), and either e-mail them to your doctor or mental health professional, or load them on a USB key and march them into the office and say, hey, look, here's what my stools look like. Can't you see the blood? In some ways it's a shame that modern doctors don't frequently look at stools like they used to before there were a lot of tests. It's harder to deny there's something wrong when confronted with a picture or stool sample that's clearly bloody.

I'm glad someone is at least taking your problem seriously and I hope they can find what's wrong with you.
