I am a old newbie with some questions. I am a 26 year old single mom, I have always from childhood remember having real bad tummy pains. AS I have gotten older I chalked it up to all the stress I had as a child and into my teen years. Things have gotten worse over time, had an ENDOSCOPY and it was apparently clear. I was then diagnosed with IBS. I have pain in my belly all the time, constapation and nasueaus (sp) feelings. I went back to the doc and now I have a anal fissure. Anyone have one and did it heal with the cream and other meds?
What is your experiences??
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Welcome to HealingWell! :-)
What do you mean by pain in your belly? Is it your stomach (upper abdomen) or is it lower (like period cramps)? Do you take anything for constipation - laxatives, prune juice, etc.? Have you spoken to your doc about Zelnorm?
Anal fissures are like cracks... usually one gets them from straining and having hard stools. Most docs tell you to eat more fiber and send you home with a cream. I've never had fissures, but I had a friend who did. She said it took a few weeks for hers to go away. She did add a fiber supplement to her diet and occasionally took a stool softener to help move things along.

Thank you for responding. My pain is normally above my belly button, sometimes it is so bad it makes me feel like i need to pass out. I also have real bad gas and belly sounds that I can feel in my belly to my bum. If that make any sense. I took Zelnorm a while back but stop due to some other things I had going on in my life. It literally feels like a deep papercut when I go to the bathroom, I strain and hardly have them. I am on Levisin and Milk of Magnesea (sp) I go back to the doc in a few weeks to see if anything is better.

Thanks for the response.....
