I had no problem bringing up the article, but I have no idea what it means... can anyone explain it in English??? :(

Sorry no one got back to you on this... Proteases is an enzyme found in the gut. The article states that IBSers may have more in their colon than "healthy" people. Doctors might be able to use a protease inhibitor to cripple the enzyme, which will in turn relieve some abdominal pain.
