when I have excessive gas I take the strongest simethicone product I can find on the market, usually Phazyme or the equivalent and it helps. You might see if you could take some Acidophalous to get your stomach under control. sometimes it is the amount of time that the food stays in the stomach so you need something like Reglan.

I have the same problems, almost to a T. Take a good probiotic every day, and take an enteric-coated peppermint oil capsule every day as well ... the ones I take have ginger and fennel in them as well (these are natural antispasmodics, and ginger is also good for nausea if you ever have that.) I also take digestive enzymes (I use Enzymatica's Digest) before I eat foods that may trigger me, and avoid foods that I KNOW trigger me (milk and red meat) altogether.
Hope that helps! And I hope you get out of the bad cycle soon!

Taking Beano before a meal helps as well. Then following up with what others said... A great probiotic and maybe some peppermint oil (or Gas-X). Staying away from raw fruits and veggies will help as well.

I use Slippery Elm Bark for the bloating. You take it after a meal and it helps reduce the distension so you dont get that horrid stretched feeling after eating.
For the cramps i take Buscopan. It is available over the counter. You could also try Colofac IBS, also OTC. Sometimes just sipping warm water also helps relax the cramps and spasms.
I have friends in the USA who swear by Metamicil, and here in the UK ones who get on with Phsylium Husk. I can't tollerate fibre very well, so i have to do without, but it is worth trying as you may do well with it. Tho be aware that when you first start taking fibre supplements do not take the full stated dose, work your way up to that, and there will probably be more gas for a while, but give it a chance before you switch brands.
Hope this is of some help.

Thank you so muc for your replies. I went to Wal-Mart last night and found Mirlax which is what the doctor put me on for a while, now you can buy it over the counter. I take gas-x, I take digestive enzymes, and I started the mirlax last night. I just hate the bloated feeling that I feel on a contant basis.

If my stomach doesn't settle down in a couple of weeks I will go see the doctor. It's a miserable feeling I do know that. I only deal with the constipation, no the dirreah, one is as bad as the other I guess.

Again thank you for your concern, I sure do appreciate any information out there that will help.

Take Care,

bloating is a big issue!! the reason being, so many things can cause it. Good thing you have taken some action but just realsie that your medication is treating the symptoms and not the casue. (I know many of my meds do the same). I think it is important for you to see a health professional who can set you in motion for investigating your symptoms. Yes you could and many of us doo get by with treating the symptoms but you need to ask youself, what is going in my body to casue this.
