Hello im new here, my name i Mike and im 19 in a few weeks, i have been very scared with the symptoms i have been having latley. I startred to notice a pain under my left rib cage it would come and go and its not as bad anymore but now i have a list of other problems, it fist started with me having constipation, one day i woke up and did my regular thing and started earting and i would get very bloated and my food felt like it was getting suck in my stomach, it still does, it just feels like something is blocking my food from comming out, when i do use the washroom my bowels are a light brown, always the same colour and everything and sometimes it will come out narrow and sometimes it will come out normal, when it comes out narrow i get very scared (usually its light brown and tarry), a few times when i noticed red spots on and in my bowel movements, not in the water, on the actuall bowel, another one i'm scared of is now my rectum has a burning pain and its very akward feeling and very discomforting...just not a good feeling.....it comes 15 miniutes after i go to the washroom and it lasts for about a hour...and then comes and goes through out the day.. sometimes i will get a pain under my left shoulder blade...it just is weird when i eat and my appititte is pretty good, i just keep eating and my stomach just gets soo bloated and big and i have no earge to use the washroom and when i do nothing come out or some will come out and the rest is still stuck....I also have a few anxiety disorders so this is making me think the worst, i am actually thinking sometimes that i am going to die from colon cancer...do my symptoms at all match up to IBS??.....when i read up on the symptoms i do have alot of ibs symptoms but more symptoms of colon cancer then them all....have any of you ever had the exact same symptoms as colon cancer and you thought forsure you had it??...

I went to alot of doctors and some say its a acid problem and some say its from stress and others say its other things....but they all have told me i don't have colon cancer....i feel they don't know exacly what i am going through, like there missing something....now im getting a baterial testing of my bowels and i have a blood test that i am waiting on...

I'm going to try and get a colonopsy ....i hear its very painfull....anyways somebody please respond to me im a wreck right now

First off the chances of you having colon cancer Iwould say are less than one in a million or more. You are just making yourself crazy and it is apparant that you do have an anxiety problem. Are you taking anything for your anxiety.? That doesn't mean it "is in your head" but it can affect the exact problem you are having. Colonscopies are not painful as you are lightly sedated. They will probably want to do a CT scan before they do an colonscopy because the odds are so small that you have anything serious. It sounds like IBS which is a functional problems of the intestines. Believe the Doctors in this case and they are doing things the right way by getting the bacterial testing and blood test. Try taking some Acidophalous which you can get from most anywhere or try the Digestive Advantage for IbS from the drug store and see how you are doing. That is not normally the way you see blood in the stool and they can do a stool test easily to test for blood. Please try to relax.

I am taking vitamins, supplements and herbs to help me cope with my anxiety, i've cured myself from anxiety attacks, now its just the generalized anxiety that is getting to me. If i did not have an anxiety disorder i think i would still be scared but not to the extent that i am right now. Everythings just seems to be matching up with colon cancer, the only hope i have is that i still have my appitite, im 18, and i only saw bright red spots in my stool twice but the rectile burning is something im pretty worried about, is this normal with IBS or can your rectum feel very discomforting, like a burning? it just feels wrong, i feel really sick too sometimes especially 2 hours after i get up i start to feel like vomiting, never have yet, and i just feel like tired but when the night comes i feel my sick feeling go away but then my bloating really starts to come...

anyways thanks for your reply it helped

if you have anymore comments please do so or anyone else
thanks

Ask your dr to order a Colonoscopy. You are driving yourself crazy. Sounds like IBS.Get a diagnoses before you go to worrying.

People your age do not get colon cancer often at all. It's just not a common thing to have at 18. The burning could be caused by a gallbladder problem, which could cause a lot of the symptoms that you are experiencing, or it's possible that you might have a few hemorrhoids from your constipation, and that could cause the red spots (small amount of blood) and burning. Usually rectal bleeding that is of concern is large amounts of blood, not just a spot or two ... that can be caused from a small tear in your rectum, which can happen when you're extremely constipated, or the hemorrhoids, like I said.
Also, when you have a colonoscopy, you are given 2 drugs (generally speaking) - Versed and Demerol. Demerol is a pretty strong narcotic pain reliever, and puts you nearly out. Versed is an amnesic as well as a light anesthetic, so you don't feel pain while you're having it and you don't remember anything about having it after the fact. Don't worry about the colonoscopy - you'll feel really sleepy all day, and maybe a little bloated, but it definitely isn't painful.
Also, anxiety, even generalized, can make this problem worse. My IBS is exacerbated SO much by stress, and if I have a bad day in general, I pretty much know it's going to be a bad tummy day as well.
Try to stop worrying about cancer, as hard as it may be, and good luck. I hope you get to feeling better soon :)
