Hi,
I have just started using irrigation at home to help with really severe constipation. the nurse said to start with 1-2 pints of luke warm water. The problem I have is i can put in about a 1/4 of a pint, then the flow stops. If I remove the tube, the flow starts again, so the equipment is working. I've tried moving it round but still won't hold more than 1/4 pint. Does anyone know what I can do or why this is happening. I really want to give this a proper try and any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

I am not a doctor but i can tell you everybody is different. I have not ever had an enema but i was watching the Spa of Embarassing Illnesses and they do coffee enemas nearly every day on that show. Not every one on there could take the whole enema at first, i think it was a litre. Tho things did improve after a few goes as the system became clearer and lots of rubbish was removed from the colon. If you feel this is the right thing for you to be doing then stick with it and just keep asking that nurse for advice and support. Don't worry about amounts, your body will tell you what it needs and what it can handle at the moment. If there is anyBODY in this world you should trust, it's you.
Good luck lion00

Thanks Indigo,
I will ring the nurse tomorrow and ask her. I'm still only able to take 1/4 pint which is frustrating as I was so keen to do this right and see what happened. Anyone else actually done this? Really like some input. Thanks
