I'm getting desperate so sorry for gross details. I woke up this morning & walked outside to have morning cig & I noticed my feet were beet red & swollen, then my heart started racing so I went in took my blood sugar & it was normal 87 so I took my b-pressure 109/62 pulse111. I went to bathroom & passed enormous amount of gas & everything went back to normal! My feet was fine & so was my pulse! Can gas do this? I do this every once in a while & it allways subsides after I pass gas.

I would say that it could - gas can put a lot of stress on your body, which does funky things. the heart racing was b/c of the drop in blood pressure - i get that shaky feeling with gas sometimes too. my theory (which you should definitely not take as medically sound, it's just my theory) is that somehow, the air compresses against a nerve that triggers a reaction in your nervous system, which can make you feel like this. Once the gas moves off the nerve, the problem is gone. just my two cents :)

My cardiologist said excess gas can also make you heart feel like it is irregular so who knows what it could do. Not sure how it would affect the feet though.
