I have had IBS for a long time. Sometimes, I really don't know I have it. I have more constipation than the other. Anyway, I have had a bout recently and wondering if anyone experiences pain that goes from front to your back with this. I have noticed that it lets up when I finally go. I have been in a lot of pain with this lately. Sometimes, I don't know whether it is a gyno thing or intestional one. Last night, I used a heating pad first on my lower back and then on my front confused .
Anyone out there have these problems.

Thanks,
Bon

Hi Bon,
Welcome to the IBS board! :-)
Have you noticed that your back pain comes when your monthly cycle does? If so, it is probably a gyno thing. I have a friend that gets horrible headaches and back pain when it is her time of the month. All of us are different... I get horrible cramps and D the first couple days of mine.
It could, however, also be related to IBS. Many people get trapped gas which can radiate pain to all sorts of areas of the body. It could also be attributed to GI spasming. Have you talked to your doc about these symptoms? Lots of IBSers take antispasmodics. If the heating pad is helping it could definitely be either gas or spasms.

Thank you Lil for your welcome. I am a little older so I dont have periods anymore. I think you could be right in that it could be spasms.

Bonnie,

I experience it when I have gas trapped.  I've been experiencing on my left side.   Its like on my side.  Sometimes it will just burn.  Then I can hear it just a bubbling, and it has went away or then I will go to the bathroom.

I hope this helps.
