I was a a complete Zombie!!   For 3 days!!!  This medication is not for me..  It says drowzieness!!  This was comatose!!!   Back to the drawing board..  I guess medication is not the way for me..  I will have to try therapy..  Take Care....

Jeez Ryleigh, are you sure it was the Remeron that did it?  Or did you have a few nights of insomnia prior to taking the Remeron because you were anxious about it and that's why you slept so hard!? :-)   I wonder if you were indeed taking the right dosage...sometimes people who are very sensitive to medications just need to start off slower.  This was prescribed to help your pain and diarrhea, right?  Or to alleviate the anxiety resulting from the pain and diarrhea?

Hello,  I was on 15mg.. How remeron works is the lower doses make you more tired..  I was not tired before I took it..  I just can't handle medication..  Yes Sarita it was for my pain and IBS..  They say you can weight on this drug..  I don't know how because I could not get up to get to the fridge!! haha   I am talking when I did get up I was so dizzy I was running into walls..  I am finally starting to feel normal today..  I was hoping this was the drug!!!  I am a little depressed because of it..  Oh well,  at least I tried it..  I am afraid to try 30mg..  I will see what the doctor says..  Take care all....

I am a scared when it come to taking the medicine also.  Its been 2 weeks and I still haven't taken it.  He gave me Bentyl and Chlor/Clidi.    I am very sensitive when it come to medicine.  I do take blood pressure medicine but a tylenol 3 will stay with me for 2 days.  I can't take anything like that.  So I know where  you are coming from.

Well, you know what to take if you're in bad pain. Hard to be in pain when you sleep for 24 hours straight! :-D

Hi Ryleigh- Just a note. Remeron is good for appetite.  My MD puts his cancer patients on it and says it works like a charm.  He offered it to me should my nausea become intolerable again.  But often times it takes our bodies some time to adjust and having worked on a psychiatric unit for 5 years, I've seen this many times.  I understand you are anxious about it, but you may really want to give this a chance to work.  Sometimes, meds don't work but there is no need to suffer either if you don't have to.  You mentioned therapy- have you had it before?  You definitely want to try it. I recommend therapy for everyone!  I go for a 'tune up' every six weeks or so.  But many years ago, I went weekly.   It worked for everything else but not my nausea.  Something else you may want to consider is acupunture- it does cost money though.  I paid $110 for my first visit and then she gave me a sliding scale payment of $60 a visit (not bad).  I now go every 5 weeks.  I LOVE IT.  She treats many pt.'s with IBS as well as Chron's and UC.  She treats people who have pain and anxiety, etc.  As always, i have to suggest talking to your Doc about it.  While it's natural and wonderful, it doesn't always work for people, like anything else.  I was lucky, I got a good one.  Good luck with your decisions.

Thank you so much for your replies!!!..  I understand it takes awhile for drugs to work but I have 2 small kids and I can't wait 2 weeks to see if I can function..   I will try the acupunture..  Thanks so much for the advise.... tongue
