Hello,   Just thought I would share a positive thing I did for a friend who just got the dx of IBS..   She has been going for testing, you know all the fun tests we have all been thru..   She had already had her gallbladder out but was still having major stomach issues..  When all the tests where done they told her IBS..  We all know how that feels..  We want to feel that are symptoms are validated and for some reason the dx of IBS does not do that..  So I thought to my self what could I do to make it a little better for her..  So I got a basket and filled it with stuff I already had in the house..  I put in there a book called Eating for IBS which I had already read a 100 times, peppermint tea, mylanta gas pills, chicken soup, some little candles and some bath salts..  I took it over to her and she cried.. It really made me feel good to help someone feel just a little better about the diagnosis of IBS..  I am thinking of making up these baskets for other people to.. Anyway just thought I would share a postive way to look at IBS.   Take care everyone!! tongue

Ryleigh,
That was so thoughtful of you! You are right, we all know what's it like to go through all that testing and in the end get the "just IBS" diagnosis. Had I had someone like you in my life when I got diagnosed, I would have felt 100 times better. You did a good thing. I think many of us are just looking for a little validation and compassion.
Thanks for sharing, Ryleigh. :-)

Ryleigh! Doesn't it feel great to help someone with our "knowledge." At least it is good for something. My friend was on super strong antibiotics and had bad "d" from it. She does not have any GI diseases and just didn't know how to deal with this new found pain in the butt. I brought her probiotics, babywipes, bath salts, and pedialyte and she was so happy.

Care packages are fun to give and fun to receive. I think that was a nice gesture and I think she has a wonderful friend in you. Kudos!!! :-)
