Went to the hospital for severe stomach pain, thought it was a kidney stone, said it was IBS. They said my intestines were full. Should I get a laxative to get cleaned out, or should I just let nature take its course. If laxative, which one do you suggest?

Personally, I would suggest a laxative however you may want to try something gentle since you are already having pain. The stronger aggressive laxatives can surely double you over. I personally like Dulcolax because its gentle yet effective. Did the hospital not suggest taking a laxative? You would think that they would have or at least given you something that you can take at home.

Hope everything goes well.

If you are constipated for several days I would suggest water enema. Because if you have no BM for a certain time, feces become dried up, and water would help you with BM.
