Hello all. For about a year now everytime I have a bowel movement I have to use a hemmroidal cream. The cream helps with my itching and burning, but after about 20 mins or so, I have to go back to rewipe. I thorougly wipe after my bowel movement, but it seems that maybe after the swelling goes down more feces is able to come out and I have to do another wiping. Does this sound similar to anything anyone has experienced. Does anyone have any solutions that may help alleviate this problem. My symptoms started after sitting for long hours at a time.. I am very healthy and in shape 24 year old male. It is really frustrating to have to deal with this. Do hemmroids ever go away without surgery.

Thank you all for your help

Dan,  Have you tried the suppositories?  Much more effective than cream in my experience.  You use one after each movement.  After somewhere between 3 and 6 of those, my symptoms go away.  Give it a try and see what happens.

Best of luck,

Dan,  The only other suggestion I can think of depends on whether your stools are hard and dry and/or you are straining to have movements.  If that is the case, the problem stools and/or straining could be injuring and reaggravating the swollen tissues.  In that case I would suggest using a fiber supplement like Metamucil, Citrucel etc.  If used regularly, these supplements cause a gel like coating to form around the stool making it easier to eliminate.  This might allow healing to occur in your case.

Best,
