Hi Everyone:

I'm new to the site and just wanted to let you know that I've found a product that worked for me to control my Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It is Digestive Advantage-IBS. You can purchase it at Walgreens. It's an all natural product. I prefer the caplets so I order mine online from Amazon.com.

I suffered with IBS for three years and tried so many different probiotics and none of them worked except for Digestive Advantage. It has been an absolute miracle for me. I was literally chained to the house, because I would have to go to the bathroom up to 8 times a day. Now, it's once or maybe twice. I finally have quality of life. It truly is a miracle. It's not often that you find a product that does what it says it will do.

Hi racyspyder,
Welcome to HealingWell! :-)

So glad to read DA help you. It helped me as well! Funny, because I found the caplets to be better than the chewables... I ordered them from Amazon too! I'd get a 3 month supply for pretty cheap.

Hopefully they will continue to work for you.

Thanks for sharing!

The chewables have a sugar substitute in them for taste. The caplets that you swallow don't so maybe that is the difference. I didn't think the chewables worked as well. I think I lose some of that tablet in my teeth or something.

I am getting ready to try these myself for the first time. I too (at the great advice of this forum) bought mine on Amazon. What were your symptoms like when you started? Did you have side effects? I am a little paranoid bout trying new things. Can you tell? :-)
Always grateful for the blessings I do have!

Scared,
Don't worry, all the pills can do at this point is help you or leave you the same. The odds of them having a negative effect are extremely low. Hopefully they will work... Good luck!

No, I didn't have any adverse symptoms when I started taking the Digestive Advantage.  It took about three days for them to work for me.  I take two a day, one in the morning with breakfast and one in the evening with dinner.  The package says that some people may have to take two a day.  I haven't tried just one, but I will in a few months.  It's been the best supplement that I've taken!

does the boxssay, tw a day and at the same time or did it say two a day at diffrent periods? I am sure it stated take two at a time not seperated?

now what you are doing is seperating thedosage at 12 hour intervals which is fine you cn also take 1 and 34 pills, 1 and 1/2 pills 1 and 1/3 pills the box does not say you can seperate them does it?
negative effect for me was taking at the wrong time giving gas, I ate y the day before and I emptied out , and that night I had again a gurgeling stomach which should have gone but not

will try nothe time

Does it help with those who have IBS-C or just the ones with D? I'd be interested in trying it. I've seen it and passed right on by.

hi starrnr,
Yes, it helps those with IBS-C as well. It helps to regulate the bowels; if you have D it will help stop it, if you have C it will help make you go. I have IBS-A and it REALLY helped me keep regular. You really don't have much to lose, you should give it a try. :-)

Hi Lil - thanks for the info, certainly can't hurt anything. I'm primarily a C with D thrown in for fun on those rare occasions! LOL

Thanks again...

LOL I hear that! DA should be able to help you. Dannon Activia yogurt should help too(can't remember if you previously said it didn't work).
Let us know how it goes if you do start the DA.

*Just as a side note, a few of us found the pills better than the chewables. Although, I think you can only buy the pills online, chewables are at most drugstores and large supermarket chains.

Actually, I tried the Activia when it first came out - 'bout tied me up in knots and didn't help me at all (sure tasted good though!).

Hmmm, chewables - not sure I like that. I'm also going to have to read the labels for 'added' extras since I'm almost gluten free. Maybe ordering the pills will be better. Thanks for the heads-up...I'll check out Amazon.

Starrnr,
DA is lactose and gluten free. However, they do warn "This product may contain trace amounts of casein (milk protein)."

Bummer about the Activia. Maybe your body just needed time to adjust.  confused
