I'm new to forum but not IBS.  I was unaware how disruptive this syndrome can cause people.  I didn't know it effected so
many people in so many ways.  I felt compelled to share our story.
My mom was diagnosed with IBS several years ago.  The pain...nothing would stop it but morphine.
Davercet please...
How many times did we go to the emergency and get morphine and get sent numerous to count.
Diarrhea to Constipation to Muscle Spasms to Nausea to Vomiting it was like a vicious cycle.
Seen GI specialists several times, no help.
Test ...stool culture, colonoscopy, ultra sounds, blood work, CT scans...nothing.
Med's...Bentyl, Lyrica, you name it we tried it.
I searched high and low for answers. Then finally after searching, reading, looking, we tried a natural herbs called
Flexseed Oil.  You can get it at any neighborhood drug store.  My mom hasn't had an episode since.  I give her one
horse like pill every morning.  Seems simple, too simple to even work...but it did at least so far it has.  We were at a
point that we'd try anything...and would have sold the farm, that we didn't have to get relief.  If it works for you
send love our way.
Gene, I edited your post to protect your privacy; it's not a good idea to put up your personal information (i.e. addresses, phone numbers, private e-mails) in posts like this.  Let me know if you have any questions.

That's interesting. My mom is on flaxseed oil for her cholesterol. She was having some stomach problems related to her fibrymyalgia; I'll have to ask her to see if that has since cleared up.
