:-)  HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE!!!!!! I have suffered for 2 years with IBS/IBD. The doctors gave me every test in the world and ruled out any disease or cause. I tried lots of different prescription pills and some of them only made my symptoms worse.
I am now on ACTIVA YOUGURT for 1 MONTH now and I Am 95% back to normal. I wish I had been eating this when my symptoms first started unstead of suffering for so long. I eat one everyday, it has gotten rid of all cramps, bloating, pain, naesea. I am now going almost the same time everyday now. and regular. I havent felt this good in years. I am sleeping through the night now. before I would wake up every several hours with pain or naesea or heartburn. I hope someone gwts some relife from this. It had taken me 2 weeks of eating one ACTIVA YOUGURT everyday to regulate my digestive system.

Isn't Activa for people who are constipated? I don't have that problem--I am the opposite---very loose, or D! I am glad it's working for you though! ;)

Activia is supposed to regulate you either way (C or D). I'm on day 2 of it *again*. It really helps when I eat one a day. But, I fell off the wagon with the holidays and forgot... badness. Once you stop about a week or so it really comes back with a vengeance for me (the D). Hope this helps.

Yogurt is great, no doubt there, but a good probiotic is typically even more effective....nothing wrong with using both.

Dawn, how long did the Activia take to help you? And.. did you get sick if you forgot for a few days? Just curious.

Can I ask how this particular type of yogurt is different or more beneficial than say organic yogurt?

I read somewhere that organic yogurt has higher concentrations in acidopholis so I've been eating 1 to 2 Stonyfield Farms Vanilla flavored yogurt cups a day. I do notice a marked improvement in my situation (IBS symptoms after colon resection for cancer and GB removal, mulitiple BM's a day, sometimes D, never C).

I just wondered if Activia is better than organic yogurt?

My hubby is eating it daily too and he continues to so it must be helping him. He has Crohns.

Marsky, I don't have the answer for your questions but hopefully someone will. I will be interested to see what it is.

I have tried ACTIVIA for 2 weeks, it works. I was diagnoised with IBS in college. I use to have D every day. I took ammodium every day to the point I could not control my anal spincter muscles (leakage). I stopped the ammodium and just lived with the D! I started taking this and I already notice I am going less.

It is helpfull, try it for 2weeks/once a day, you will see a difference.

Activia has a different type of bacteria than Stonyfield Farms organic yogurt. You can compare the bacteria types in the two yogurts, it should be listed in the ingredients.

With Activa, you'd only need one per day so you'd save money and calories. However, it's not organic and has a lot of artificial stuff in it.
