Me again. I have just started to feel quite sore and uncomfortable in the area below and to the sides of the navel. Is this normal the day after a colonoscopy? There is no real pain and no fever or blood.

I will phone the endoscopy unit and ask them but would appreciate any input from you also.

Have spoken to endoscopy unit and they assure me that this can be quite normal for a couple of days so long as the pain does not become severe and there is no fever. I feel reassured by this but would still be interested in the experience of other more seasoned colonoscopites (have I just invented a new word?)

I don't recall hurting, but I think that they put gas in your rectum to help open up your intestines so they can see them better, so you may have trapped gas pains.
