Looking online at my dr summary (which I normally don't look at), in the list of my normal diagnoses there was added "ckd stage 2 (mild)". Well, of course I flipped out. I was surprised that he never mentioned this to me. He had that down on three previous summaries. Looking back over my years of summaries I saw that at age 58 (7 yrs ago) he noted that kidneys were normal with creatinine of 1.0. My latest numbers every 6 months have been 1.23 (47), 1.14 (50), 1.02 (58), 1.13 (50). To me that indicates stage 3. Can he be giving me stage 2 based on other indicators or lack of (no protein in urine etc)? When I mention this he tells me to hydrate and drink a lot of water. I recently (2 months ago) weaned myself off of the anxiety meds I've been on but have to consider going back on as my anxiety with this is full blown! Can't sleep, wake up early in a panic anticipating the worse. I'm extremely frightened for my future - I'm a 65 year old female - thanks for any words of wisdom you may have.

Hi Lin, just happened to see your post. I cannot answer your questions about the lab numbers. Why not make an appt & go in & see your dr to discuss these numbers. Let him/her give you answers so you can shelve the anxiety. Having anxiety full blown is just not healthy for anyone. I know it is scary when we get in these situations. I am 64 & have health issues, let something get out of wack & I get nervous.

Take care.

Hello, first i feel sorry about your story, kidney is an important excretory organ in human body, and creatinine is an toxin produced by muscle metabolism, which is discharged by kidney. The normal level is 0.8-1.2mg/dl. When kidney are damaged more than half, the creatinine goes up. So creatinine is normal doesn't mean kidney healthy. I am also a kidney patient for many years, now my condition is under controlled with herbals, i can have a normal life. And i suggest you take care your kidney. If you have any problem you can send me a message. I have a yahoo email, named yuyingbb. I wish this is helpful to you.
Best wishes.
