I was wondering if anyone is making any resolutions this year.  I think my number one goal is to be kind.  I am resolving not to say anything negative about anybody this year!  I feel so bad about myself when I am negative about others and it can become such a habit!  Anyway...I want also to make some lifestyle changes to undo some of this prednisone damage!  I hope and pray everyone has a happy 2008!  I also aim to read a book called "A Brilliant Mind" by author Frank Minirith (sp?)  I definitely need to smartin' up!!  I feel so dull these days.  Anybody have any reading suggestions?  God Bless All,  Judy

Hey Judy!! Great!! Yes! I could do better in the being kind department myself. I think most of my unkindness stays in my head . . . but it doesn't belong there either.

Is Frank Minirith the one who partnered with Minirith/Myer?? If so, he's done some great counseling over the years for thousands.

I want to continue doing what I can to GRADUALLY lose my excess weight and to intentionally make healthy choices for food. For me it is one big NON-med thing that I can do to lighten the burden on my body. I also want to continue to take my dogs for short walks instead of just turning them out in the backyard when they need to go out. That little bit of exercise . . . just 10 minutes 3 or 4 times a day . . . really helped me this year.

Blessings to you to Judy!!

You know, they say that you have a better chance of reaching your goals if you write them down. So, this is a great idea to post our resolutions! I plan to cut down on the fats and the sugar in my diet so that I can start to lose my prednisone weight. And, like Rosie, I plan to increase my exercise by fitting in 3 or 4 "mini-workouts" in increments of 10 minutes each day.

Good luck to all!
Prayers,
Audrey Ann

I'm also starting water aerobics this month. I really excited about that. My doctor has recommended it for years. Judy

This is a good topic Judy!

My new year's resolutions are to work less, play more.  Definitely do-able.

I read an article on the you dont look sick web site that suggested that choosing a word to incorporate into your life each year can make a tremendous difference in both your life (and I think others!), not seem overwhelming to do and easier to stick with.

I decided I liked that idea. The word I chose is acceptance which I can apply to a lot of different areas of life.

Judy,

Did you see the same article I did? Kindness and gratitude were 2 other words I considered.

I didn't see the article, but it sounds like such a good idea. I think one of the things i'm learning to deal with most is not trying to conquer the world and all of my problems in one day! It's been a major adjustment I know for all of us. I really want to try not to frustrate my own self this year and be more "peaceful" within my own spirit. You guys are awesome! God Bless You, Judy
