Hey everyone,

Well, I had the baby....finally. He's 4 weeks old now. He was born on Friday December 7, 2007. Tyler Ryan weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz and was 18 1/2 in. long. After months of struggling to keep him in we had to do an inducement to get him out! Everything went great though (very different from my first). I was given an epidural before I was given the pitocin to strengthen my contractions, so I wouldn't be in too much pain, and to my suprise it actually worked this time. With my daughter it didn't take and I felt all 22 hours of her labor. With him it was 5 short painless hours followed by 4 pushes and he was here. It was such an enjoyable experience and he was heathy and gorgeous. He has lots of blond hair and big blue eyes (looks like my twin brother). I had a tubal ligation the following morning, which went smoothly and I wasn't in too much pain and was up walking around within a few hours, and was ready to go home, however, Tyler had other plans. He had a bad first 24 hours, vomited everything he ate and wouldn't sleep. He lost 10 oz in the first 24 hours, so he had to stay a few extra days until he began eating and keeping his food down. Finally, after 3 days we were able to come home and he began inproving after about a wek home, sleeping and eating better, thankfully. Now he's getting so big already and is such a good baby. I feel like my life is complete now with my 2 healthy perfect children and my darling husband. I'm doing alright, starting to have a flare, which I knew was eminent, but was hoping against. Luckliy I have a lot of help from my family and friends so I can work on getting to feeling better and spending as much time with my little ones as possible. I hope everyone had a Merry christmas and Happy New Year and the best wishes to you all.

What beautiful children!!! Absolutely precious!!

Thanks for the update and I'm hoping your flare flattens out and disappears so you can enjoy your little family.

I envy you your easy delivery. I never has an epidural work properly and now they are fairly sure I can't have one this time around. Scary thought for me since the little one is due in May. CONGRATS!

Redrose . . the breathing techniques taught in med-free child birth classes are WAY helpful. I delivered 3 of my four w/o meds and two of those were posterior (back labor). If you lose your concentration or don't follow the technique you KNOW it wasn't just an easy delivery, but that the methods work. My youngest is 25 now so I don't know what these classes are called anymore. But its not just the typical "childbirth" classes. WAY worth the effort of attending classes. I think you could get material form the library . . . but you would need to be super dedicated to do all the practicing, as you can't just read it . . .you have to "become" it. . . which requires practicing most every day for a few weeks. Just a thought. (Oh . . . I vowed after the first delivery which was medicated, that I would have more control over any subsequent deliveries.) Anyway . . . you still have the option of medication, but you have the bonus of self help too.

Blessings!

How wonderful for you and your family!  You are all so beautiful.  You've also given me hope that someday I will be able to have children with this whole Lupus mess.  Take care of your little ones:)

Congratulations, Erin. I agree, you have adorable children. It's also a blessing that you have lots of help right now. Take good care of yourself. You AND your little (and big :-) sweeties will be happy with a rested mom.
