First let me say "Thank You" to all of you for such a warm welcome. I wanted to let all of you know that I have spent the entire weekend reading posts, blogs, information pages anything and everything I can about lupus (although I don't think I have reached the end of the internet yet....lol). Let me explain, I was told in October that I had lupus. I honestly didn't think too much about it. I just figured that it was just one more thing that I had to deal with. First is was raynauds, then rheumatoid arthritis, then MCTD, then COPD and now lupus (and to boot menopause). It was my current rheumy that told me about the lupus and suggested I start plaquenil. I still didn't give the lupus much thought. That was untill this weekend.
It started on Friday when I left work early not feeling well (which is not at all like me). I was aching all over, my stomach was upset and I had a headache. I came home and went to bed. I slept for about a hour in the afternoon and when I woke up was not really feeling much better (I really thought I had a stomach virus).
Then on Saturday I wasn't much better. It was nothing I could put my finger on all I can say is that I wasn't feeling great. It seemed like every joint in my body hurt, I had no energy, I wasn't hungry, I just felt bleh....lol. I happened to talk to my girlfriend on Saturday and when we were talking I happened to mention to her about the possibility of me being in a flare up. I had heard of flare ups but I really wasn't sure if I was in one or not (like I said earlier I really didn't give too much thought to lupus when I was told). It was my girlfriend who suggested that I look into some of the lupus web sites, she in fact sent me the link to this site. Of all the sites she sent me it was this one that I felt I would be the most comfortable in telling my story and asking for help. As of today I am feeling better. I still don't know what was going on with me this weekend. Maybe it was a flare up maybe it wasn't. I will have to tell my rheumy what happened when I see her in February and see what she thinks.
I would like to thank all of you for all of your information. It has been a help to me. I would also like to inform all of you that I do have so many other questions but, I will save them so that this post doesn't end up being 15 pages long....lol.
Thank you again!
