In order to try and hold the pain at bay I am using skull   Percocet skull and I have to tell you I cant function. I feel  HORRIBLE. The woosy feeling is better than the first 2 doses but it still knocks me down. I read one womans post that this drug gives her more energy to accomplish household tasks . Really? Or are you hallucinating you cleaned your house lol. It messes with my dreams and I feel drugged. Wanna laugh? I only use it once a day. I wake up in pain and live with it for as long as I can which is normally around 6 pm and then I cant handle it anymore. I feel loopy all darn day though. This isnt living to me. I cant even drive! This sucks canal water!

PS. I did ask for a less stronger med and was told the others will complicate my CD issues so this is the best for me to use.

hey Chaya,
i was taking percocets a for a few months and i think the drug helped me tremendously. It took away most of my pain and it did give me energy to clean and go grocery shopping and stuff like that. recently my doc and i decide to change my pain meds because using percocets for long term pain management is not a good idea because of the tylenol in them (its bad for the liver) so now i am taking oxycontin 10mg once a day. it's the same as percocet but without the tylenol. What mg are you on for the percocets? do you take it with food or without? Hope you feel better!

How do you go shopping? Your not allowed to drive until 24 hrs after the last dose in the state of De. How the heck do you function on this stuff? I def take food with it as it makes me sick if I dont. Its 10 mgs of the whatever and 650 of tylenol. In order to get in from the pharmacy it cant be called in, needs a hardcopy and you have to sign off with identification to pick it up. Its like an application for the FBI just to be on the darn pills. You are amazing if you can function so well on this stuff. I take my hat off to you.

try asking the doc to lower your dose i was on 5/325 and that's why it didnt make me drowsy. and dont worry i didnt drive for a few days until i knew for sure how it would affect me. and if you actually read the instructions for the percocets it says not to drive until you know how it will affect you. i just think you are on too high of a dose for you body (just my opinion) and i always just called my doc and he would call it down to the pharmacy because it's a military hospital and he was a military doc so that was how i would refill my script and they would give me a piece of paper to sign saying i did pick it up. and the reason a civilan doc cant just call it in is because it is a schedule 2 drug (narcotics) and those are illegal to call in the pharmacy must have a hard copy for the paperwork.

Hi Chaya, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with the pain meds. There are so many differnt ones out there you'd think they could give you somthing that suits you better. I just started taking percocet 10/325 x4 per day. The first time I took it I got really messed up on it. the next day I was kind of tired but not but not all spaced out. This is the 3rd day and it doesn't even bother me. and yes I also cleaned my house some what better than normal.I didn't clean like a wild woman or anything but I did get a lot done.  You know we are all diffferent and somthings just don't work for us. You should get persistant with our doctor and let him know that you are really having a problem with it. or give it a couple more days and see if you get used to it. They make vicodin in 5, 7.5, and 10mg. I think the 10 has the 325 tylenol too. but I can't swear to that.

try calling your doc again and tell them you need to really consider changing the meds tel them you think you mght be alergic to them somthing.

let us know

hugs

carol

Chaya . . . ask your pharmacist if you can cut your pills in half. If so, you'll have the twice the medicine for the same cost. The drug stores sell a pill spliter. Pretty cheap and you just put your pill the little slot and close the lid. A little razer blade comes down and cuts the pill.

Let us know what you find out.

Blessings!

I know this post is old, but I have been having the same experience with Percocet/Oxycodone. My doc has always given me Vicoden 7.5/750, and those are great. But I had surgery and now I got some Oxycodone's. I took two of them a couple of days ago and felt like I was on some serious stuff, I have been reading there are some major diff's between the generic and brand name. When I took it I couldn't sleep, my body felt wired but I was exhausted, my mind was racing and all I could do was lay on the couch and hope for the best. I am scared to take anymore. I got 7.5/325. Does it get any better?? Should I just hang in there or what? I would feel better if I just had some Vicoden I think...
