Life just gets better and better doesn't it!
Ya, I was on 125mg of I.V. prednisone every day for a week when I had my medication allergy. It's the only thing that will combat an anaphalaxic (sp?) reaction. It could save your life.... Definitely take it. You're only on it for about 24 hours right? Maybe a bit longer? That's a really short duration. You can probably go back down to your normal dose right away. That's not long enough of a time for it to make any difference to your tapering schedule. All this dose will do is prevent an allergic reaction from getting out of hand. Sort of the same idea of taking antibiotics before a dental cleaning. Preventative.
Ask your rheumy about the dose change when the test is over. Don't take my word for it, okay! Make sure she/he tells you what dose to take the next day. I'm betting they say just take your normal dose.
I know it's irritating, but important!!
