Well, I went to my Doctor on Monday. Asked him about the fibro issue...Reply was oh, yeah you have fibro. Doc said he isn't worried about the fibro, because of the lupus issues. Then he took more blood.

Thanks to all.

Hi Frank,

Well, at least you have confirmation now.  Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for Fibro.  I find that hot baths, or ice packs on the sore places works the best of anything I've tried. Good thing you're not on prednisone. That med makes fibro a lot worse.  So that is a positive thing.

Thanks for letting us know what the prognosis was,

Ginny

I have lived in the tub so much in the last few years that I have fins now. The doctor said that cymbalta helps and it will take a couple months for it to work. Has anyone heard of that?

Thanks for the hugs

Frank, I took Cymbalta a while ago and I did read some good things about how it was helping people with chronic pain. Unfortunately I had a bad reaction to it - I found out I can take and SNRIs or SSRIs or related meds. Did your doc talk to you about Lyrica? It's the first med that's actually approved for fibro. I take neurontin which works in a similar way and it does help some with the burning pain I have.

Thanks for he update - I was wondering how things went with your appointment.

Take care

Hi Frank,
I'm sorry your dealing with this. I hope the Cymbalta works well for you. Doctors give so many different treatments for this disease. Of course what works for one may not work for another.
Since I have been sleeping with an electric blanket, taking zanaflex at night and trazadone mine has improved greatly during the night hours. During the daytime when I can't take these meds due to work the pain can get bad but, at least I get relief at night.
I hope you get relief soon. Please keep us updated and take care. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
