Hi all,
My husband took me out Saterday and got me a new oven. He surprised the heck out of me. He said it will be easier for me to keep clean now. My other one was so hard to keep clean this one has a glass top. I ran it threw the cleaning mode and man did it kick my butt. Has anyone else had this problem with Lupus?? It bothered my skin and was very hard to breath.I have never had a problem with this before.

Denise . . . Did you clean a brand new oven????

New metal items usually have a coating on them (applied like polish) which keeps them from dampness etc. . . . when you burn a new grate in a fireplace, or start new appliance, there IS an odor from that. I'm not sure if it is harmful, but it always gags me and I have throw out the first item cooked in a toaster, new skillet, etc.

I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Blessings!

Hi Tink,
I get my son to do the self cleaning cycle on mine and I stay away from the house for a few hours. Since I have breathing problems its does irritate my lungs. Be careful and take care.
