Hi All:

I woke up this morning with sores in my mouth and can barely walk. Of course this happens the day before I'm to get on an airplane and fly home to help with my Dad. My step Mom is going on a vacation to Florida and my Dad can not be left alone so I was asked to come and be with him.

I sure hope she's prepared and frozen all our meals or Dad and I will be eating out everyday. I'm not expected to do any cleaning or such. I'm just suppose to be there with him. Please send prayers and positive energy to me so that I can make it through the next nine days. My flight leaves tomorrow morning and I'll be back on the 17th. Gosh why did this need to happen now. Ugh I'll up my pred and hope that I improve in the next couple of days.

Thanks all,

Barb

Oh No Barb bless your heart! They couldn't get anyone else? I mean I know you want to be there for your dad but geesh! I don't suppose they have a computer so you can check in? well she still has time to make some food unless she wants a nice fat food billl to come home to. Than again eating out or delivery has alot to be said for it too. lots of plastic and paper.
You know it seems like when i get stressed about doing somthing such as you are about to do is when I get sick. I used to break out with these really nasty sores on my face just before I went on vacation. Maybe a little extra somthing for anxiety might help too.
I'll be praying for ya

Barb, you are such an amazing person - what a loving thing to do for your dad. I'm worried about you though - worried about how the trip and being away from home will affect you. Please try to get as much rest as possibel, and yes, eat out if there aren't prepared meals there. Please take care of yourself.

Love, hugs, and prayers

Barb,

Do take care of yourself! Be sure to get the rest you need. Hopefully, you will find this time with your dad one that you get food memories from.

Barb,

I've wondered how you're doing. I sure hope you have the strength to make the trip to where your dad lives, and that while you're there you'll do nothing but read, watch tv, and heat up frozen dinners. Let me know how you're doing when you get home. I've been thinking about you.

Love,

Has anyone talked to or otherwise heard from Barbara? She hasn't been on since Thursday -- was traveling on Friday but now it's 4 days later. She was going to Minnesota (if my brain fog is letting me remember correctly) and it's been bitterly cold there -- she was going to use a computer at the library to check in but may not be able to get out because of the weather.

If no-one has heard anything, I will track her down tomorrow.

Cheers,

Hi Lynnwood, I tried calling her cell phone yesterday but she didn't answer or call back. She didn't say if she was even taking it with her so I really don't have any info to share. Yes that was what she told me too was she would be going to the library because her folks don't have a computer. If you talk to her please tell her hi and we miss her

hugs

Barb called, she asked me to let everyone know she is getting enough rest and enough to eat but she is having a flare. Her cheeks are hot and the buttterfly rash and her mouth has sores in it. She is enjoying her time with her dad though. She said to say hi to all and she will be home on sunday night. Her flight gets in at 7. The weather has been freezing. It's 10 degrees today for a high and it snowed yesterday.
I also talked to Patty Latty, she didn't sound to good. She actually sounds like you could knock her over with a feather. please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers

Hi All:

I'm home arrived home on Sunday night. I'm totally wiped out and in a major flare. I was suppose to see my doctor today but I came home to a sick kid and she needs to be seen at the same time my appt was. So I've rescheduled my appt for next Monday. I'll see both my internist and rheumy on Monday. Hopefully my flare won't get to bad before then.

Thanks for all your well wishes while I was away. My Dad was doing ok considering he's 75 and has health issues. It was very very cold there while I was there. We only went outside 2 times in 9 days. Most days the wind chill was -30 below or more. I managed the trip but it's taken a huge toll on my body. Sorry it took so long to respond. I'll try to answer some posts later today. For now I've got to go and take care of my sick kid.

Take care all.

Love,
Barb

Oh great when it rains it pours doesn't it? I'm sorry you and your daughter are so sick. I wish you could have gotten in to the doctor when you were supposed to. It's an awfully long time before your next appt:. Just try to rest when your daughter is resting. I'll be praying for you both

Oh Barb, just when you need to go home and crash you arrive to a sick Nikkita. I hope she recovers quickly and that you're able to go to bed and rest and recover from this bad flare. I've been thinking about you a lot. Just know that you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Pat

How are you and Nikita doing? I'm sure its very hard for you to take care of Nikita while your so sick but, your mom instinct takes over in that type of situation....((Hugs)). I hope she is feeling alot better by now and you can get the rest you need. Update us when you can. You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

Barbara got in to see her doctors today, and they have made some med changes to help control her flare so she can stay home till at least Monday. (Sunday is Nikita's birthday and she wants to be home as she has been in the hospital for the last 2 bds.)

You are in our thoughts, Barb

Thanks for the update lynn, I have been checking chat all day for her to be in. I know how important Nikita's birthday is this sunday and I am pleased to hear that her doctors have helped her to enjoy this special day with her daughter.
